CTi®3 Care & Maintenance

CTi®3 Care & Maintenance: Keep Your Brace Performing Like New

Your CTi®3 knee brace is built to withstand the toughest conditions — mud, snow, sweat, and high‑impact landings. But like any precision piece of equipment, proper care and maintenance will extend its lifespan, preserve its performance, and keep you protected season after season.

Whether you ride motocross, ski backcountry, or hit the trails every weekend, following these simple maintenance steps ensures your CTi®3 stays locked in, comfortable, and ready for anything.

Why Maintenance Matters

Regular care of your CTi®3 brace helps you:

  • Maintain optimal fit and anti‑migration performance
  • Prevent premature wear on straps, pads, and hinges
  • Keep liners fresh and odor‑free
  • Ensure hinges track smoothly for precise ligament support
  • Maximize the durability of your carbon frame and hardware

After Every Ride: Quick Clean

After muddy, sweaty, or snowy sessions, take a few minutes to clean your CTi®3:

  • Remove liners and pads. Pull out condyle pads and any removable foam liners.
  • Rinse with cool water. Use a damp cloth or gentle stream to wipe down the frame, hinges, and straps. Avoid high‑pressure hoses that can force dirt into hinge mechanisms.
  • Hand‑wash liners. Use mild soap and cool water. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out excess water — do not wring.
  • Air‑dry completely. Lay your brace flat or hang in a well‑ventilated area. Never use direct heat, hair dryers, or radiators — high heat can warp foam and degrade straps.

Weekly or Monthly: Deep Inspection

Set aside time every few rides (or once a month for casual users) to inspect your CTi®3 thoroughly:

  • Check all straps and D‑rings. Look for fraying, stretching, or loose stitching. Replace worn straps immediately to maintain secure fit.
  • Inspect hinge bolts. Ensure all screws and bolts are snug but not over‑tightened. If hinges feel loose or stiff, contact CTi Sports Bracing for service.
  • Examine condyle pads. Replace pads if they're compressed, torn, or no longer cushion effectively.
  • Test anti‑migration straps. Confirm Velcro is still gripping firmly. Clean Velcro with a stiff brush to remove lint and debris.
  • Check frame integrity. Look for cracks or stress marks on the carbon frame. If you notice any damage, stop use and contact support.

Storage Tips

Proper storage between rides keeps your CTi®3 in peak condition:

  • Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving your brace in hot cars, direct sunlight, or damp garages.
  • Keep straps fastened loosely. This prevents Velcro from collecting dust and maintains strap shape.
  • Use a gear bag. Protect your brace from impacts and dirt when transporting.
  • Avoid compression. Don't stack heavy gear on top of your brace — it can deform pads and liners.

Replacement Parts & Upgrades

CTi®3 braces are designed for long‑term use, and replacement parts are available to keep your brace performing like new:

  • Condyle Pads: Replace every 6–12 months depending on use.
  • D‑Ring Sets: Swap out worn or damaged D‑rings to maintain strap security.
  • Extension Stops: Add or replace hyperextension stops as needed for your sport or recovery stage.
  • Liners & Sleeves: Refresh comfort and moisture management with new liners.
